The White Sox Baseball Schedule and the Dreaded Cubs

Oh, those hated Cubs! Whenever they appear on the White Sox baseball schedule, you can expect fireworks. This epic rivalry started back in 1900, as the current White Sox franchise relocated from St. Paul, Minnesota to Chicago, Illinois. They called themselves the Chicago White Stockings, which just happened to be the former name of the Cubs franchise. So not only did Cubs fans feel the team was invading their turf, but the upstart club even had the audacity to pilfer their former moniker. The two teams met in the 1906 World Series, with the White Sox downing the Cubs in six games. The rivalry has remained ever since, and with the advent of interleague play, the cross-town rivals now meet six times per season. As an old song says, there are two teams that White Sox fans are always rooting for -- their beloved club, and whoever it is that happens to be playing the Cubs. Such is the nature of this intense longtime rivalry.
