Chicago White Sox Playoff Tickets
Early on in their history, there were plenty of opportunities for baseball fans to purchase Chicago White Sox playoff tickets. Within their first 20 years as a Major League Baseball team, the ChiSox won a quartet of American League pennants and two World Series championships. In 1906, the White Sox faced the Cubs in the only all-Chicago World Series in the history of baseball. The White Sox, dubbed the "Hitless Wonders" due to the fact that they had the worst team batting average in baseball, entered the series as underdogs. Yet, they pulled the upset, defeating their cross-town rivals in six games for the first world title in franchise history. Title number two came in 1917. That season, Chicago won a team record 100 regular season games and downed the New York Giants in six games to win the World Series.
Chicago White Sox Playoff Tickets in 2005?
The last time that fans had the chance to buy Chicago White Sox playoff tickets was in 2000. Until this year, that is. As of September 12, the Sox had a 5 1/2 game lead on the Cleveland Indians and seemed poised to win the American League Central Division, or at least earn a Wild Card berth. Thus, the team recently announced that, on Thursday, September 15 at noon, they would start offering single-game tickets to each of the three possible AL Divisional Playoffs that would be held at US Cellular Field. Ticket prices start at $30 for upper deck reserved seating, and lower deck box seats would fetch $55 per ticket, with a maximum of four seats allowed per person. White Sox officials did not immediately announce plans for any possible American League Championship Series or World Series games. Perhaps they didn't want to jinx the White Sox, who last advanced past the divisional playoffs in 1993.
